Our plan for this office building reposition was to strip away decades of bad interior renovations and restore this classic 1920s office building to its purest form. Our design highlighted the bare concrete exterior walls and columns, steel multi-pane windows, and open heavy-timber framing. By creating openings between the floors and a dramatic steel and glass stair case, we brought light and air deep into the floor plates. Finally, we designed a roof deck so that tenants of this office building reposition could enjoy views of the Oakland skyline.
